Hens kept the way yours have been (in their last home) may have a calcium deficiency and also with them getting some actual excersise now they will be needing extra protein. &lt;BR/&gt;This can be one of the reasons they break eggs. Extra grit, egg shells, broccoli and dandelion leaves will help with the calcium and grain or veg like peas will add to their protiens. This egg breaking usually stops once their bodies have adjusted to being in decent living conditions and they've had chance to recover to better health. Good luck and it was nice to meet up with you btw. :)&lt;BR/&gt;Shelly</content><link rel='edit' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/4117386198920498348/4332375888517714092/comments/default/3209021615825177613'/><link rel='self' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/4117386198920498348/4332375888517714092/comments/default/3209021615825177613'/><link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://hens.knittage.com/2008/08/we-have-eggs.html?showComment=1218748280823#c3209021615825177613' title=''/><author><name>Larri</name><uri>http://www.blogger.com/profile/09005851107956905475</uri><email>noreply@blogger.com</email></author><thr:in-reply-to xmlns:thr='http://purl.org/syndication/thread/1.0' href='http://hens.knittage.com/2008/08/we-have-eggs.html' ref='tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4117386198920498348.post-4332375888517714092' source='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/4117386198920498348/posts/default/4332375888517714092' type='text/html'/></entry></feed>
